Just as Browns, Rainbows and Brook Trout fill our rivers and ponds, Grouse and Woodcock thrive in the Adirondacks! The Hungry Trout Resort leases 1,000 acres of regenerated forest land owned by International Paper just 15 minutes away and is reserved entirely for the use of our guests enjoying our hunting packages. Loaded with Aspen, Birch and conifers, and dotted with beaver dams throughout, our leased covert contains ideal habitat for large numbers of grouse and woodcock. Flush counts taken for the past 12 years suggest comparative numbers with western lodges charging five times the price of our packages! Each of our six experienced guides have access to many more acres of private habitat you may visit as well. We encourage hunters to bring their own dog with them as all of our birds are wild and the experience you’ll share with your hunting companion will last forever.
Book early, as once you do hunt with us, like so many others you’ll find very few reasons to drive or fly the many hundreds of miles to other far more expensive hunting areas. As most of our guests stay with us year after year, we encourage you to book early!.
